María Ayete: A look at representations of rurality in the contemporary Spanish novel

As part of the lecture programme on the theme of villages, leading up to the Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote, María Ayete will explore representations of rurality in contemporary Spanish novels. The talk will question the idea of a single rural world and trace narratives from the 20th and 21st centuries, examining which experiences have been made visible and which have been left on the margins.
