VIAJE A LA GOMERA

The Senior Club organizes for October from the 7th to the 9th a trip to the island of La Gomera, the second smallest of the Canary Islands (Spain). It stands out for its rugged volcanic mountains with numerous hiking trails. At high altitude, dense forests of ferns and trees covered with moss grow in the mists of Garajonay National Park. Closer to the coast, the Gran Rey valley traverses La Calera, a village of whitewashed houses perched on a cliff, ending at the black sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. TRIP ITINERARY: DAY 07 OCTOBER – GRAN CANARIA–GOMERA. Meeting in Sta Brígida at 04:45, airport transfer, check-in procedures and regular Binter Canarias flight to La Gomera at 07:15. Arrival at 08:05. Bus and guide assistance. Visit to the capital, the historic quarter, Torre del Conde, the last port from which Columbus departed to America. Continue via GM1 to Hermigua, with stops at different viewpoints, a coffee break and gomero sweets shopping. Rural village with banana plantations and the old pescante. Continue to Agulo, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, declared in June 2022, stroll through its cobbled streets. Lunch (La Zula or Las Rosas). Continue to the Jardín Tecina hotel, dinner and overnight. DAY 08 OCTOBER – LA GOMERA. Breakfast at the hotel. Pick-up at the hotel, departure via GM1 through northern villages (Hermigua, Agulo) to Vallehermoso, where you can have coffee, visit the church and take a walk, continue to Valle Gran Rey, where there will be some free time to see La Calera and Vueltas. Lunch at a restaurant. On the way back to the hotel, depending on the time we stop at the Laguna Grande, where those who can will take a short hike through a very short trail and see laurisilva. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and overnight. DAY 09 OCTOBER – LA GOMERA – GRAN CANARIA. Pick-up at the hotel at 09:30, we head to Alajeró, the highest village on La Gomera, where the Silbo monument stands, an intangible world heritage site, and the Erque and Erquito viewpoints. Continue to Chipudey Cercado with a coffee stop and also to visit the pottery center in El Cercado. Lunch at a restaurant. Transfer to the airport, check-in procedures and regular Binter Canarias flight to Gran Canaria at 17:20. Arrival at 18:10 and transfer to Sta Brígida. END OF OUR SERVICES.
