About this event

The senior club organizes for next Friday, July 10, a cultural outing to the Centro de Interpretación La Guancha, in the municipality of Gáldar. Discover the La Guancha archaeological site on the coast of Gáldar, one of the most fascinating places to learn about Gran Canaria’s indigenous history. Facing the ocean and beside the ancient settlements of El Agujero and Bocabarranco, this site invites you to travel more than a thousand years back to delve into the life, beliefs, and funerary world of the ancient Canarians. The new Centro de Interpretación de La Guancha offers an immersive and accessible experience, with exhibition halls, historical recreations, and a walkway directly connecting to the necropolis and its impressive tumuli, unique in the Canaries. All this in an environment where landscape, sea, and heritage come together to reveal the essence of the ancient Agáldar, considered the aboriginal capital of the island. The complex is located in the El Agujero neighborhood and connects by walkway to the archaeological site itself. At the end of the visit we will have lunch at the Dedo de Dios restaurant, in the Villa de Agaete. Lunch will be on the line of each participant. First course: Papas arrugadas, salad. Second course: Breaded fish or meat in sauce. Dessert: Tarrina ice cream. Water, wine, soft drinks. Bread. Price: 16€. Target: Members of the Club de Mayores (If there are free places they will be filled with the general public). Limited places.
