SYNOPSIS: José Félix presents this musical proposal devoted to Portuguese fado, the result of intensive study of the famous Lisbon genre. In the recital “Fado nocturno,” the Tenerife-born singer takes us on a journey through the purest fadista tradition and the various classic styles that this music contains, thanks to careful study of traditional styles and the experience gained in Lisbon’s fado houses circuit alongside local musicians. With only a Spanish guitar for accompaniment and a minimalist musical approach that prioritizes the emotion of the word, José Félix guides us through the stories that Lisbon’s songs keep within them, as we witness the ritual of introspection necessary for fado to emerge in its most genuine and unembellished form.
