The Casa de la Cultura “Carlos Alonso” in El Rosario, in La Esperanza, hosts the third edition of Jornadas de Arte, opening its exhibition space to the neighborhood residents of the Municipality who make up the Taller de Dibujo y Pintura of the Universidad Popular de El Rosario, coordinated by its professor Elia Estévez, a graduate in Fine Arts from the Universidad de La Laguna. Thus, on Monday, April 6, from 7:00 p.m., it will host the exhibition “El Rosario,” which can be visited until April 30, while on Monday, May 4 through May 28 the collection “Canarias” will remain on display. Both exhibitions can be visited from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Through this initiative the student body of the courses “Dibujo y Pintura” can be encouraged since they can show part of their work to the public. It is worth noting that, unlike previous editions, this year the students themselves chose the themes of the exhibitions. Each student proposed different ideas, which were later put to a vote, resulting in the selections “El Rosario” and “Canarias.” Through the works on display, each artist has interpreted the themes of each exhibition from their own perspective, bringing their personal style and sensitivity, which will yield two exhibitions rich and diverse.

  • Traditional wreathing of crosses on the eve of their feast day.

  • Next, around the neighbourhood plaza area: Gathering of participating carts to enjoy their ambient music.

• Sunday, May 3 – Feast of the Santa Cruz:

His two children, now independent, visit him frequently with the aim of pulling him out of his confinement. At the same time, Sofía Timmerman appears, a woman belonging to the so-called “grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo”, who start a new campaign to locate the children who were stolen during the military dictatorship of General Videla, in the late 1970s. Both stories intertwine and converge, drastically changing the lives of their protagonists. The past regains importance, and we will try to discover what is true and what is false in this small story of anonymous beings, but as real as the tragedy they themselves have endured.

• Candela is a tribute to the flamenco soul that burns in the most intimate corners of the community. On a stage that evokes a Gypsy village at dawn—with sheets in the wind and a central fire as an altar to life lived—the flamenco dancers bring to life memory, strength, and the everyday resilience of a tradition that is passed on through body and heart.

The Auditorio Francisco Álvarez Abrante, in La Orotava, will host the show “Noches con Cristito y la madre canaria” on May 9 at 21:00 hours. SYNOPSIS

In our Tempest, Shakespeare appears on stage, now older and very weak, trying to write one last play that lingers in his head. To achieve this, he asks the spirits of Ceres, Iris and Juno to help him write it by embodying the different characters of the new work. Through this theatrical game, Shakespeare guides us to a mysterious island where Próspero, a wise mage, lives with his daughter Miranda. With the help of his friendly spirit Ariel, Próspero uses his magic to unleash the storm and teach important lessons to those who hurt him in the past.

The play speaks about forgiveness, friendship and the possibility of starting anew, values that remain essential for both adults and children.

This article celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Romería de La Esperanza. It highlights the inauguration of the commemorative intervention at Puerta 3 of Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López and notes that the special programming will run throughout the year, with the culmination on Sunday, August 2, bringing together tradition, music and devotion. It also mentions the participation of Romera Mayor 2025 and the involvement of authorities and clubs linked to the celebration.

Camino Santiago por la Vida is the 4th edition of the solidarity journey of the Fundación Canaria Carrera por la Vida – Walk for Life. Open to women and men with breast cancer and their companions. From August 29 to September 6, 2026 they will walk 125 km along the Camino Frances to come together, share experiences and build bonds among people who are currently facing or have faced the disease, and those who accompany them. During the itinerary there will be awareness about early detection and visibility of survival. Includes measures of assistance and support during the march. Organized with the support of the Health Area of the Adeje Town Hall and the Sports Department of the Government of the Canary Islands. Limited places.
