AZÚCAR, a work by the company Comediantes de la Cacharra Verde, a Canary Islands based group of educational and transformative music and theatre for children, presents the show AZÚCAR, inspired by the life and work of the artist Celia Cruz. Celebrating the centenary of her birth. In 1925, in Havana, Celia Cruz was born, “the Guarachera of Cuba,” recognized as one of the most important and influential Latino artists of the 20th century. The piece brings us closer to Celia through a text that recounts the most notable events of the character, accompanied—as is customary in the company’s productions—by music, dance and participatory games.

A day dedicated to animal welfare, community spirit and solidarity. In the morning, there will be demonstrations, a dog fashion show, an adoption parade, participation from animal protection associations, a dog walk, a children's area, and a charity collection of food for dogs and cats, blankets, and cleaning and walking products.
