Festival of Our Lady of Candelaria. On the 14th and 15th of August, Candelaria hosts key events of the festivities in honour of the patron saint of the Canary Islands. The August festival of Our Lady of Candelaria, known as “the festival of the natives”, includes the Guanche Ceremony on 14 August at dusk in Plaza de la Basílica and the solemn procession, High Mass and pilgrimage on 15 August. Admission to the events is free.

XIII Exposición de Minis Clásicos Virgen de Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza
La Esperanza welcomes this Sunday its XIII Exposición de Minis Clásicos Virgen de Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza. From ten o'clock in the morning, the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and surrounding areas will host the gathering of these iconic vehicles. The exhibition, organized by the MiniManía Tenerife club and the Fiesta department of the Consistorio, will take place this Sunday, July 26, in La Esperanza, from 10:00 a.m. Vehicles come from Tenerife and Gran Canaria, La Gomera and El Hierro; it is one of the largest minis gatherings in the Canary Islands.
U-18 Women’s World Water Polo Championships
U-18 Women’s World Water Polo Championships\n\n16 August 2026\n\n23 August 2026\n\nPuerto de la Cruz will host the Women’s Junior World Water Polo Championships from the 16th to the 23rd of August.\n\nThe Tenerife Aquatic Sports Centre (Centro de Deportes Acuáticos de Tenerife - CDAT) in Puerto de la Cruz will host this World Aquatics-organised Under-18 championship, featuring around 400 water polo players from some twenty national teams. Notable among the participating countries are Spain (the reigning champions), Greece, Hungary, the United States, Australia, Italy and the Netherlands. The venue features a 50-metre Olympic-sized pool and has seating for spectators.
