Theatrical tour "Pedro de Bethencourt. Santo de Chasna, camino de luz". Sunday, 24 May 2026. Time: 17:00 h. Place: around the Plaza and Parroquia de San Pedro Apostol de Vilaflor de Chasna. A unique cultural proposal around the figure of Pedro de Bethencourt, Santo de Chasna, combining interpretation and musical accompaniment. Directed by Roberto Melo with the participation of the Asociación Cultural Imoque. Initiated by the Ayuntamiento de Vilaflor de Chasna. An opportunity to approach, through performing arts, the history and legacy of Canarias.

Festival Internacional La Orotava Cittaslow 2026
La Villa is getting ready to host a new edition of the Festival Internacional La Orotava Cittaslow, an event that invites you to breathe, feel and savor the philosophy of care, calm and quality of life. In this second edition, La Orotava will experience a highlight with the official twinning with the municipality of Bubión, in Granada, marking the first official meeting between municipalities in the national Cittaslow network. The program will include various activities linked to sustainable tourism, education, gastronomy, local products and culture. On September 25, International Tourism Day, Plaza de la Constitución will be the main stage for the villa’s official acts to celebrate a more conscious, sustainable way of traveling, connected to the roots of the territory. Additionally, La Orotava students will take part in culinary workshops led by CanBio Comunidad Slow Food, focused on the value of food and the Slow Food philosophy. The Cittaslow badge will also be presented to the new establishments joining the Villa as part of this commitment to quality of life. The program will also feature the Km0 Fair “Las Ventitas,” a space devoted to local producers, crafts and flavors of the land. Music will also play a prominent role with performances by a.f. Oroval, Nicotine Swing and Somos Caracoles.

SYNOPSIS: To tell her story, three actresses will voice her: a young woman will narrate her life in Poitiers and Nazi-occupied Paris, a middle-aged one will recount her early years in Tenerife, and an older one will take us through her final days. Each actress will star in her stage, while the other two will assume different key characters from her life: Breton, Óscar Domínguez, Picasso, Minik, Valentine Penrose, María Belén Morales… They will also interact in an almost dream-like dimension, weaving surrealism into the piece. The stage space will reflect this surreal spirit, with objects that evoke her art: impossible combinations, unexpected images.
