"El viento salvaje", de la cía. Las niñas de Cádiz llega al Teatro El Sauzal
DATE: Tuesday, December 8, 2026. TIME: 8:00 PM. PERFORMANCE: «El viento salvaje». Professional closing performance of the XXII Festival de Teatro Amateur 2026. VENUE: Teatro El Sauzal. GENRE: Theater. DURATION: 75 minutes. COMPANY: Las Niñas de Cádiz. AGE RECOMMENDATION: Suitable for ages 13 and up. TICKET PRICE: 12 € Regular and 9 € Special (for students, under 25 and over 65, and residents of El Sauzal). SYNOPSIS: Two friends. So close they seem sisters. Yet a shadow over their friendship: “While one grew up confident, pampered by life and smiling, the other felt unhappy…” We strip Fedra and Medea of their peplos and bring them to our days, turning them into gray beings. Only when conflict arises will they suddenly embrace an ancient fate, under whose influence they will sweep away anything in their path. In the background, Cádiz, a macondo-like city, where everyday elements gain a magical dimension foretelling tragedy: the unsettling Levante wind, heralded by the flute of the knife-grinder and by the circus on the city outskirts, the birds’ chirping, the neighbors’ chorus… Our new show is a playful and “jonda” reflection on luck and guilt. A tragedy punctuated by laughter, as is fitting for a Las Niñas de Cádiz production. Because we know that in every terrible story there is a paradox that can lead to comedy; and conversely, every spark of humor always hides a tragic undertone.
