The Cathedral of La Laguna will celebrate on Thursday, March 26, at 8:00 PM, an extraordinary concert by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra with the oratorio Paulus by Felix Mendelssohn, one of the great choral works of German Romanticism. Under the direction of maestro Víctor Pablo Pérez, the ensemble will perform for the first time in the Canary Islands this extensive score, in an event framed by the collaboration that the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Diócesis Nivariense maintain to bring great works of sacred and symphonic-choral repertoire to this heritage space.

SYNOPSIS: In the 1970s, the fusion of jazz with other musics began. Led by the great trumpeter Miles Davis, musicians arrived on the jazz scene: Joseph Zawinul, keyboardist, and Wayne Shorter, saxophonist. These two great performers and composers, joined by a remarkable electric bassist named Jaco Pastorius, would create a flagship project of 'Jazz Fusion' called Weather Report: a melting pot of world musics fused with jazz. A cult group.

The evening will give us the opportunity to enjoy some of their pieces and enter their musical universe.
