Alfombras de La Orotava

Alfombras de La Orotava is a cultural event held in La Orotava featuring flower carpets and religious celebrations during Corpus Christi. The main day is Thursday, June 11, and it offers liturgical acts, the making of floral carpets, and a wine competition. Organized by: Sociedad Cultural Liceo de Taoro. Collaborators: Excmo. Ayto. de La Orotava, Consejo Regulador de Vinos del Valle de La Orotava, and Cabildo Insular de Tenerife.

• 07:00 Traditional ringing of the bells

• 07:15 Celebration of the Eucharist with the attendance of the Alfombristas, for the subsequent start of the making of the floral carpets

• From early morning, making of floral carpets through the streets of the parish

• 12:00 Solemn exposition of the Most Holy Sacrament

• 18:30 Solemn celebration of the Eucharist

• Subsequently, solemn procession of the Most Holy Sacrament on its litters

• At the entrance to Plaza del Ayuntamiento, a speech to the faithful gathered before the Blessed Sacrament

• Singing of the Tantum Ergo and of the Eucharistic Hymn Cantemos al Amor de los Amores, by the Corales de la Villa and the Agrupación Musical Orotava

• Subsequently, Solemn Blessing with His Divine Majesty from the central balcony of the Town Hall and a Procession back to the Parish, where the Reservation of the Blessed Sacrament will take place

• 10:30 XLII CONCURSO DE VINOS “VILLA DE LA OROTAVA” (2ª Fase). – Wines from growers of the Villa de La Orotava and wines with a D.O. of island scope.
