Festival of Our Lady of Candelaria. On the 14th and 15th of August, Candelaria hosts key events of the festivities in honour of the patron saint of the Canary Islands. The August festival of Our Lady of Candelaria, known as “the festival of the natives”, includes the Guanche Ceremony on 14 August at dusk in Plaza de la Basílica and the solemn procession, High Mass and pilgrimage on 15 August. Admission to the events is free.

XIII Exposición de Minis Clásicos Virgen de Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza
La Esperanza acoge este domingo su XIII Exposición de Minis Clásicos Virgen de Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza. A partir de las diez de la mañana, la plaza del Ayuntamiento y alrededores acogerán la concentración de estos icónicos vehículos. La exposición, organizada por el club MiniManía Tenerife y el área de Fiestas del Consistorio, se llevará a cabo este domingo 26 de julio en La Esperanza, desde las 10:00 horas. Procedentes de Tenerife y de Gran Canaria, La Gomera y El Hierro, es una de las mayores concentraciones de minis en Canarias.

Puerto de la Cruz will host the Women’s Junior World Water Polo Championships from the 16th to the 23rd of August.
The Tenerife Aquatic Sports Centre (Centro de Deportes Acuáticos de Tenerife - CDAT) in Puerto de la Cruz will host this World Aquatics-organised Under-18 championship, featuring around 400 water polo players from some twenty national teams. Notable among the participating countries are Spain (the reigning champions), Greece, Hungary, the United States, Australia, Italy and the Netherlands. The venue features a 50-metre Olympic-sized pool and has seating for spectators.
