New free courses to improve your digital skills
New edition of free in-person courses aimed at the general public to improve digital skills through the YoConecto.org program.
The training, adapted to all levels, will include certification at the end of each learning itinerary. Sessions will be held at the Biblioteca Municipal, from 16:30 to 19:30.
- Digital prevention: networks, fraud and security (May 5, 7, 12 and 14).
- Useful apps for managing online procedures (May 19, 21, 26 and 28).
- Apply artificial intelligence in your business (June 2, 4, 9 and 11).
Interested people can already register using the QR code on the information poster. They can also request more information by calling the phone number 678 07 02 82 or by writing to the email address.
To participate you must be over 18 years old and attend each session with a smartphone and ID.
Arucas Piedra y Flor 2026 dedicated to traditional games
The opening of this V Edition will take place on Friday, May 15, at 6:30 PM, in Plaza de la Constitución. The days include workshops, concerts, and exhibitions that will run until May 24. The program is organized by the Ayuntamiento de Arucas, Concejalía de Parques y Jardines, and la Asociación Salsipuedes, and offers activities for all audiences.

Semana de la salud por profesionales sanitarios
The Health Week for Healthcare Professionals is a five-day program organized by the Centro de Salud de Santa Brígida, with free access to workshops, talks, preventive tests, and spaces for self-care.
Agenda:
- 18 mayo 2026 — 19:00 at the Patio del Ayuntamiento de Santa Brígida: opening, performance of the humor sketch Mañana empiezo, directed by Iris García, tribute to the professionals of the Centro de Salud de Santa Brígida and a welcome cocktail.
- 19 mayo 2026: in the morning at 10:00 a workshop on healthy eating with label reading, led by Marta Vega, accompanied by nurses Sonia Mendoza and Sandra Morales. The morning will end with a healthy bingo.
- In the afternoon, the Municipal Library will open its doors to children with the storytelling La neurona exploradora, led by psychologist Silvia Luján, followed by the workshop El tren de los buenos hábitos for children under 8 years, led by pediatrician Iballa Reyes and pediatric resident Ana Quesada.
- 20 mayo 2026: dedicated to prevention. From 10:30-12:00 at the Club de Mayores, screening stations: ultrasounds for abdominal aneurysm detection, dermatoscopies for skin cancer prevention, examinations for oral cancer detection, information sessions on self-breast examination and basic cardiovascular screening tests with health education. Subsequently, Linda Sunthorn and José A. Marrero will offer an informational talk about the Administrative Unit of the Centro de Salud.
- 21 mayo 2026: under the motto Moving is Health, from 10:30 the physiotherapist Margarita S. Santana and the case-management nurse M.ª Eugenia de la Fé will direct adapted-exercise Olympics. Later, social worker Silvia Chessa and nurse Mireia Miranda will lead a dance workshop.
- 22 mayo 2026: with a focus on emotional well-being. At 10:30 the psychologist and psychotherapist Francisco Ramírez will offer the workshop Bienestar y consumo: más allá de los mito, while therapist Elsa Jayasuria will lead, at 11:30, the meeting Emociones en movimiento.
