La Biblioteca Municipal de Arucas commemorates World Book Day with a full program that starts with the presentation of a literary work and extends over several days with workshops, meetings and activities to promote reading. The program includes:

  • 17 abril 2026, 19:00: presentation of Mate de dos alfiles, by Sergio Mira Jordán.
  • 18 abril 2026, 11:30: family workshop “Cuentos con huellas verdes”, led by Rita R. Sosa (advance reservation via the app “Arucas, espacio cultural”).
  • 23 abril 2026, 11:00: microfiction contest “Game Over”.
  • 23 abril 2026, 19:00: crime fiction reading club meeting, coordinated by José Luis Correa.
  • 24 abril 2026, 18:00–20:00: lettering workshop for adults led by Patricia Valencia.
  • 25 abril 2026, 11:00–13:00: reading festival “Puente de papel” at the Casa de la Cultura, in collaboration with Librería Yaya. The Department of Culture of the Ayuntamiento de Arucas, directed by Carlos González, organizes this initiative to promote reading as a habit and energize the municipality's cultural life.

Taller de formación de lengua de signos dedicado a la Sordoceguera

La Concejalía de Educación of the Ayuntamiento de Teror begins on 20 April the sign language training workshop dedicated to the ‘Sordoceguera’, which will run until 11 May 2026, in 7 sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 16:00 to 19:00 hours. The free course is integrated into the project ‘ENTRESIGNOS II’, funded by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Consejería de Educación y Juventud. The sessions will take place on the following dates: 9-11-16-18-23-25 February; 2-4-9-11-16-18-23-25-30 March; 1-6-8-13-15 April. Free registration at educación@teror.es.

Arucas invites the municipality’s children and adolescents to participate in the construction of its city

Arucas City Hall invites children, girls and adolescents of the municipality to join the Órgano de Participación de la Infancia y Adolescencia (OPIA), a space designed to listen to their ideas and give them an active role in improving the city. Under the motto "Arucas te necesita", the initiative aims to involve the youngest population in decision‑making, fostering their participation and recognizing the value of their opinions in building a more inclusive municipality. The first open meeting for minors up to 17 years old will be held. Date and time: Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. Location: Biblioteca Municipal de Arucas. OPIA will allow participants to express opinions, propose, and contribute solutions to the issues that affect them in their day-to-day lives.

  • April 215:30 p.m.: First open meeting for minors up to 17 years old at the Biblioteca Municipal de Arucas.
