The Arucas City Council will recognize 18 personalities and institutions at the 2026 Acto de Entrega de Honores y Distinciones, to be held on next June 24, the feast day of the municipality's patron, San Juan Bautista, at the Nuevo Teatro Viejo. Wednesday, June 24 – 7:00 PM – Nuevo Teatro Viejo

The free activity organized by the Concejalía de Políticas de Igualdad of the Ayuntamiento de Arucas, within the Caminando en Igualdad project. The day consists of a tour around the Finca de Osorio. The Arucas City Hall invites a new edition of the outdoor rapid painting contest “Barrios y pueblos con historia de Arucas”. It will take place in Montaña Cardones, Santidad and Bañaderos, on May 17, June 28 and July 19. With no restrictions on theme, style or technique, participants may compete for prizes of 450, 250 and 150 euros, for first, second and third prize respectively. Registrations will take place on the same day of each contest, from 09:00 to 10:00, at the locations where each day will take place.

On Tuesday, June 23, the Awards and Distinctions ceremony of the Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas Gran Canaria, held at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus, will take place as part of the city’s Founding Festivals, during which the beloved and adopted sons and daughters will be named and the City’s Gold Medals will be awarded.

A theatrical show, organized by Puertos Canarios del Gobierno de Canarias, which will take place on Friday, June 19, at 11:30 AM, at Puertillo de Castillo del Romeral, San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The artistic proposal transports the audience to a future where land is scarce and the sea covers almost the entire planet. Through theatre, music and visual poetry, the play invites reflection on the relationship between people and the marine environment, weaving stories, songs and marine legends. A performance that culminates with a question to the audience: "What would you save if the sea took everything away?"

The artistic proposal transports the audience to a future where land is scarce and the sea covers almost the entire planet. The programming for this first edition, which will take place on Tuesday, June 16, includes presentations, workshops, informational spaces and other activities. The day will begin at 09:00 with the reception of participants and the institutional inauguration by the Mayor of Arucas, Juan Jesús Facundo, which will give way to a program that will include presentations, workshops, informational spaces and other activities. The Plaza de San Juan de Arucas will be the venue, on June 7, 2026 at 12:00, for the III Certamen de Vestimenta Tradicional Canaria. Organized by the Agrupación Folklórica Herencias with the collaboration of the Ayuntamiento de Arucas and promoted by the Agrupación Folklórica Herencias and the Agrupación Músico Cultural El Molino de San Borondón. The call will remain open from May 22 to June 3, 2026, and people from any municipality may participate, with a maximum of ten male participants and ten female participants. The outfits must faithfully correspond to the 19th and 20th centuries of any of the Canary Islands, with authenticity, the quality of the outfits, historical rigor and the explanation of each piece valued. The jury will award the Premio a la Mejor Vestimenta Tradicional Masculina, the Premio a la Mejor Vestimenta Tradicional Femenina and the Premio “Jeito”.

Víctor Batista Velázquez, musician and composer, will be the one to deliver the pregón, giving start to the Fiestas Patronales 2026. The mayor of Arucas and the councilor for Festivities presented the pregonero and highlighted his career. This act marks the opening of the Fiestas in honor of San Juan Bautista 2026.

Timpliando, 7th edition, an event where the Artistic Schools of Arucas showcase the talent of the Aula de Timple Solista and highlight this instrument that is so much a part of us and a symbol of Canarian culture. The Equality Policy Department of the Arucas City Council organizes, on 11 June, a visit to Finca de Osorio, an activity within the Caminando en Igualdad project. The initiative is free, pre-registration is required, and it is aimed at the municipality's residents.

The day features a tour of one of the most emblematic natural spaces in Gran Canaria, the Finca de Osorio. The departure will be at 09:10 from the Arucas Senior Center, the point from which the bus will depart with the participants in this activity.

This trilogy, Memorias de Tamarán, offers a scenic journey through the volcanic memory of Gran Canaria, connecting heritage, artistic creation and contemporary language.

The exhibition, organized by the La Vinca Ecologistas en Acción collective together with the Department of Culture, brings together the works of Sara Rodríguez, Rita Rodríguez, Fabiola Santana, Fátima Pérez and Mónica Rodríguez, inspired by the floral richness and biodiversity of the Canary Islands.

Exposición Divulgativa Isla Verde, a photographic exhibition dedicated to the different vegetation levels of the Canary Islands and to the natural wealth of the archipelago. The photographs on display are the work of Marco Martín, curated by La Vinca Ecologistas en Acción, and form part of the World Environment Day activities program. The exhibition is at Casa de la Cultura de Arucas from June 8 to 30, 2026.

The Escuela de Salud initiates in Bañaderos a training cycle focused on emotional regulation, which is part of the health education program “Escuela de Salud”, promoted by the Zona Básica de Salud de #Arucas and the Asociación de Mujeres ‘Maresía’, with the collaboration of the Servicio Canario de la Salud, the Ayuntamiento de Arucas and Localiza Salud.

EXPOSICIÓN RISCOS DE COLORES is the new exhibition by José Javier Melián Santana, which can be visited at Casa Gourié, Museo Municipal de Arucas, from June 12 to August 28, 2026. The exhibition brings together around forty works in which painting and sculpture dialogue through a technique that reuses disposable pallets. Summer hours: Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 14:00.
