The Escuela de Música Banda de Santa Brígida has announced the opening of enrollment for the upcoming academic year 2026-2027. This cultural and educational program aims to foster love for music in the municipality, offering residents the opportunity to learn from scratch or improve skills across a wide variety of musical instruments. The activities will take place at Camino al Tejar, s/n (near CEIP Lola Massieu, La Angostura). The Mercado Agrícola de Gáldar, an initiative driven by the Concejalía de Desarrollo Socioeconómico of the Ayuntamiento de Gáldar, led by Tine Martín Ojeda, returns this Sunday to Plaza de Santiago. The event offers a space for selling the best products from our land every fortnight at Plaza de Santiago and its surroundings, always on Sundays.
The event will run from 9:00 to 13:30 and will bring together local producers for a day that aims to showcase the quality and authenticity of the municipality’s and island’s primary sector.
During the morning attendees can enjoy a wide variety of zero-kilometer products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, artisanal breads and cheeses, honeys, wines and other land-produced items, with the familiar flavor and the quality of our people. The Mercado will also feature musical performances to brighten the day and create a festive atmosphere in the heart of Gáldar.
Mercado Agrícola de Gáldar is supported by the Consejería de Sector Primario, Soberanía Alimentaria y Seguridad Hídrica of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and is part of the island-wide Mercados Agrícolas, Ganadero program.
