La Concejalía de Educación of the Ayuntamiento de Teror begins on 20 April the sign language training workshop dedicated to the ‘Sordoceguera’, which will run until 11 May 2026, in 7 sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 16:00 to 19:00 hours. The free course is integrated into the project ‘ENTRESIGNOS II’, funded by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Consejería de Educación y Juventud. The Plaza de la Constitución of Arucas will host this Saturday, May 16, at 8:30 p.m., the show 'Las calles que de niño transité', a creation by Salsipuedes that will feature the special participation of Braulio, as part of the Jornadas 'Arucas Piedra y Flor' and in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Cultural Association. Duration 40 minutes. A musical and theatrical itinerary through Canarian memory.

Synopsis: It tells the story of a Canary Islands nurse who arrives in El Aaiún in 1970 to work temporarily at the local hospital. But her life changes when she falls in love with a young Sahrawi man linked to the Frente Polisario and committed to the struggle for the independence of Sáhara Occidental. In 1991, at the refugee camps, she receives a visit from a journalism student interested in documenting the conflict. Through their conversation, she relives her passage through a territory marked by uncertainty, resistance and loss.

The City Council of Arucas invites a new edition of the open-air rapid painting contest 'Barrios y pueblos con historia de Arucas'. It will take place in Montaña Cardones, Santidad and Bañaderos, on May 17, June 28 and July 19. With a free theme, style and technique, participants may compete for prizes of 450, 250 and 150 euros, for first, second and third prize respectively. Registrations will take place on the same day of each contest, from 09:00 to 10:00, at the venues where each day will take place.

La Concejalía de Políticas de Igualdad del Ayuntamiento de Arucas celebrates, next Tuesday, 19 May, at 5:00 PM, the dance therapy workshop “Movimiento en femenino”. A proposal designed to offer participants a close, intimate and caring space, in which they can reconnect with themselves through movement and body expression.

The activity is aimed at women interested in enjoying a wellbeing experience and personal connection, without needing prior experience. The workshop will last approximately two hours.

Through movement dynamics, breathing exercises, and a guided meditation, the participants will be able to release tensions, listen to their emotions, and connect with their bodies. The next initiative continues to promote activities aimed at the citizenry with the goal of promoting spaces of wellbeing, self-care and gathering among the women of the municipality.

Presentation of the GC-211 improvement project.
