Within municipal activities to commemorate International Women's Day, the Social Action area is organizing a day just for them. The Ayuntamiento de El Rosario has opened the registration period for a free women's excursion to the municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, which will take place next Saturday, March 21. This excursion, organized within municipal acts in remembrance of International Women's Day celebrated every March 8, is for women aged 18 and over who are registered in El Rosario. The women who sign up will enjoy a tour of some of the most emblematic places in the historic center of the northern municipality and will share a different day in one of Tenerife's best-known tourist destinations. Synopsis

'La maleta' reflects on forced migration that many people around the world have suffered and continue to suffer. With a contemporary perspective, it tells from the perspective of its characters the reality of the emigrant. Different people, different motives, but always one thread: the search for freedom.

With the poem by Pedro Lezcano as the narrative axis, the play traverses the different reasons why people have to leave their homeland and look for other places where they can be what they could not be.

The centerpiece of the proposal is a giant suitcase that will transform into the spaces needed to tell each of the stories. An original work that brings its staging to the street to be able to be performed, seeking closeness with the audience and making them part of this proposal

The celebration of Semana Santa en La Laguna is one of the Archipelago's most traditional religious and cultural manifestations. Across several days, visitors have the opportunity to appreciate the rich and varied religious heritage the City possesses. During Semana Santa, processions formed by pasos of incalculable historical and artistic value take place, which together with the cofradías traverse the most emblematic streets in a display of authentic popular fervor. These pasos are examples of the imaginería and orfebrería that developed in the Islands and beyond over the last five centuries. Special significance attaches to the acts celebrated on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. On Maundy Thursday, it is worth noting the opening of the chapels of the temples in order to show the Eucharistic monuments, true jewels of island goldsmithing. Good Friday is notable for the Procesión Magna, which takes place at five in the afternoon, and comprises the set of pasos and cofradías that traverse the City starting from the Santa Iglesia Catedral. Likewise, at twenty-two hours the Procesión del Silencio is held, which brings together the penitential brotherhoods and cofradías accompanying the Dead Lord, also from the Santa Iglesia Catedral to the church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, amid the attendees' deep reverence.

The Commerce Department of the Illustrious Town Hall of El Sauzal announces the II Contest "Rincón Canario." This contest aims to promote and boost small and medium-sized businesses by spreading, stimulating, and raising awareness of popular culture and Canarian traditions in the municipality of El Sauzal.

Within the Salud 360º program, a Taller de Juegos de Mesa will be held, an activity designed to enjoy group leisure and foster participation and interaction among young people. From Monday, April 6 to Saturday, April 11, 2026, the XXI Semana de la Salud will take place in El Sauzal. Most activities are free, except for a healthy walk on April 11, which costs 15 € for residents and 25 € for non-residents.

Within the Salud 360º program, the Casa de la Juventud de La Orotava hosts a Taller de Alfarería Tradicional workshop taught by artisan Zoraida Padilla. The activity will take place on Tuesday, April 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and is aimed at young people aged 12 to 17. During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn basic pottery techniques and create their own handmade piece. At the end of the activity, each participant will be able to take home their handmade piece. Location: Casa de la Juventud de La Orotava.

Shows "Parallax" by Entredanzado. In 2023 the company chose to bet on a stage proposal led by Abigail Borges, "Parallax". This term is used in optics to refer to the displacement of an object caused by the real movement of its observer. Some arts theorists refer to it as the way of framing the past, always dependent on our positions in the present.

For this occasion we wanted to use the stage space as a vanishing point where the present and the past converge, with no hierarchies between the current and the primitive.

Synopsis.

We remain biologically the same as 160,000 years ago, even though we think we are far away and above those ancestors. We continue to cultivate love, joy and fear.

Eating around the fire, settling near the water, getting lost and finding ourselves.

We seduce and let ourselves be seduced, and on occasions we boast of keeping our most primitive and wild part. We continue to hallucinate and "dance in the cave". We continue migrating in search of better times, in search of a new subsistence. We practice barter and fight against the wind and the waves of the sea, dealing with inner storms, fighting the giant (universe and brain). We are creatures of habit, of exhausted repetition that leads us into trance, to connect with "the gods", to imagine deities that help us escape fear. We have turned almost everything that was fiction into real. We go beyond the Moon and dissect with robots. What we have not managed to answer is the eternal question: Who are we as a species and where are we headed? Still, one might ask: have we evolved as much as we think?

SYNOPSIS: Maribel y la extraña familia is one of the most emblematic works of Mihura's theatre, one of the representatives of the renewal of contemporary humor that characterizes the Spanish comedy of the mid-20th century. Mihura was a screenwriter among other films of Bienvenido Míster Marshall, cartoonist and humorist, author of Tres sombreros de copa, an iconic work of post-war Spanish theatre and of a group of very successful titles.

Mihura's humor, fabulously represented in this piece of misunderstandings, is enjoyed as much in the dialogues, loaded with double meaning and irony, as in the situations of confusion, through which the characters and also the audience move without exactly knowing what reality is.

This family that warmly welcomes Maribel, will it hide something unconfessable? What lies behind the extravagant family and its “extraña” kindness? Is it reality or appearance? And regarding this plot so magnificently constructed, is it a situation comedy, a mystery thriller or a romantic comedy?

The Salud 360º program offers a wide variety of workshops and activities designed to promote healthy living and the overall well-being of youth. Through different proposals, participants will be able to explore areas related to health, creativity, sport, and heritage.

Among the activities included in the program are nutrition workshops, home-based exercise, board games, pottery, candles, textiles, and self-defense, as well as environment-related proposals such as a cultural heritage route and an excursion to Anaga.

The initiative is aimed at young people aged 12 to 35. Moreover, those who attend three of the workshops will be able to secure a place to participate in the hiking route 'Cruz del Carmen – Punta del Hidalgo,' which will take place on Saturday, April 18, completely free.

Play 'Ángaro' by Laboratorio escénico: an interdisciplinary project that unites sound, words, and audiovisual language to spread culture through popular music and Canarias folklore, seeking to foster connections between continents. SYNOPSIS: Buenos Aires 2010. Héctor Kessler, a retired military doctor, spends his retirement making homemade perfumes as a hobby. His two children, now independent, visit him frequently with the aim of pulling him out of his confinement. Parallelly appears Sofía Timmerman, a woman belonging to the so-called «abuelas de Plaza de Mayo», who start a new campaign to locate the children kidnapped during the dictatorship of General Videla, in the late 70s. Both stories intertwine and converge, drastically changing the lives of their protagonists.

The Auditorio Francisco Álvarez Abrante, in La Orotava, will host the show “Noches con Cristito y la madre canaria” on May 9 at 21:00 hours. The humorist Cristito will come to the town with a performance full of humor and everyday situations, accompanied by one of his best-known characters, la madre canaria. A promise of a night of laughter and entertainment for the audience. The event will take place at the Auditorio Francisco Álvarez Abrante and tickets are available through the platform TomaTicket.es.

• 21:00 Noches con Cristito y la madre canaria

This article celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Romería de La Esperanza. It highlights the inauguration of the commemorative intervention at Puerta 3 of Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López and notes that the special programming will run throughout the year, with the culmination on Sunday, August 2, bringing together tradition, music and devotion. It also mentions the participation of Romera Mayor 2025 and the involvement of authorities and clubs linked to the celebration.

Camino Santiago por la Vida is the 4th edition of the solidarity journey of the Fundación Canaria Carrera por la Vida – Walk for Life. Open to women and men with breast cancer and their companions. From August 29 to September 6, 2026 they will walk 125 km along the Camino Frances to come together, share experiences and build bonds among people who are currently facing or have faced the disease, and those who accompany them. During the itinerary there will be awareness about early detection and visibility of survival. Includes measures of assistance and support during the march.
